Trailers are supposed to be very short and you have to get through a lot in a short space of time. one thing that can get you to fit a lot in but also create an atmosphere is the use of a fast Montage.
Here's a Montage from The StepFather that gives us many ideas, this is an example of how you can use the Montage effect.
In order to create a certain atmosphere also the close up/medium and establishing shots used to show confinement/ awkwardness/ vulnerability and tense.

Inspiration shots 'Roommate'
Here are a few shots that we thought we could recreate in our trailer . we thought that these particular shot had real meaning to them and added a real sense of horror to the trailers. The filme we looked at was Roommate which we felt fit our trailer than another film like Scary Movie. Watching the trailer gave us inspiration for our trailer.
The Top two shots are of a girl throwing petrol on another stock characters then lighting a flame. This is all you see and I think that this leaves the audience wanting to know if she set him alight. the purpose of a trailer is to temp the audience to watch the film and I think this shot defiantly try's to do that .

We looked at other groups ideas to see if we could use them for inspiration but change and adapt them to fit our trailer.
